I spent almost 3 months in this country I have seen and done lot of things here.

          Srilanka is a fascinating island country in the Indian Ocean with spectacular beaches, wild life  and remarkable history opportunities for adventures.

It’s delicious food, famous tea, Udawalawa elephant, welcoming peoples, cheap prices makes great travel destination that it is today.

1. SIGIRIYA


Situated in the central Matale district near Dambulla. Sigiriya is a 5th century a greater and larger historical significance. It’s is UNESCO  declared world heritage site and also it is said as eighth Wonder of the World.

It is said that the site was selected by king Khashaypa as his capital and he decided to build a palace on  top of the rock. It is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters high.

It is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning. The most remarkable and notable attraction of this site is huge gateway frame of the lion.

About the royal palace and capital were  banding after the death of the king. The warden jungle and task staying around long with the historical significance make Sigiriya one of the best place to visit in Srilanka.

     


2. YALA NATIONAL PARK


Srilanka is an excellent to wild life safari destination with good number of fantastic national parks and obviously Yala is the best all the national parks in Srilanka 

Separated in five different blocks, Yala is the 2nd largest national park in  Srilanka after Wilpattu national park with highest leopard densities in the world.

On the other hand there are 21 fresh water fishers.  44 species of mammals are resident in Yala National Park including Srilankan elephant.

The reptile fauna recorded from the park is 47 and six of them are endemic.

Yala is one of the 70 Important Bird Areas in Sri Lanka. Of 215 bird species of the park, seven are endemic to Sri Lanka.

So well exploring Srilanka make sure you don’t miss out this experience in the best of Yala.

 

3. COLOMBO


Colombo the capital of the country is the modern city with shopping malls, restaurants and quality hotels and many more. 

If you want to experience the modern Srilanka you can’t be  without exploring Colombo.

All major government offices and residences are found in Colombo.

While in Colombo you can visit the Gangaramaya buddhist  temple and Dehiwala Zoo.

Also you Relax and the enjoy music in Galle face green. It is a historic landmark on the southern edge of this promenade.

Also you can know about the history of Srilanka by visiting national museum of Colombo.


4. KANDY



Kandy is the 2nd largest city in Srilanka, It is a major city in Sri Lanka located in the Central Province.

The city of Kandy lies at an elevation of 1,526 ft above sea level also it is home to the temple of the tooth relic.

Which is one of the most sacred place of worship in the world of Buddhist.

In 1988 the temple was declared as world heritage site by UNESCO.

If you want to experience best of Srilankan culture, you have to attend the Daladamaligawa Asela Perahera in Kandy in August every year.

It is one of the grandest and oldest of all Buddhist festivals in Sri Lanka. You can see decorated elephants, featuring dancers, jugglers and fire-breathers at this festival.


5. NUWARA ELIYA



Nuwara eliya is one of the Srilankan most beautiful city.

It's Often referred to as ‘Little England’. The city of Nuwara Eliya lies at an elevation of 6,129 ft above sea level.

The impressive had botanical gardens and some worlds class golf courses. The landscape tea gardens and some stunning waterfalls were making you fall in love with Srilanka. 

The town really comes alive in April for the Sinhalese and Tamil New Year. Because of that It is difficult to find accommodation on this period, but it,s not impossible.

There are so many main attractions during April include motor and horse racing events.



6. PINNAWALA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE


Visiting the Pinnawala elephant orphanage, can get unique and the exciting experience of your life time.

Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world.

There were 108 elephants, including 50 males and 73 females from 3 generations, living in Pinnawala.

Located in hill country side near Kegalle.

The orphanage offers the opportunity to see the baby elephants  playing and bathing at river, milk feeding, fruit feeding and also you can see elephants shows.



7. GALLE


Galle is one of the major city in Sri Lanka, situated on the southern province.

The galle fort is the UNESCO declared word heritage site.

It's believe to be the largest  remaining fort build by European occupiers.

Also Galle has major attraction including Natural Harbour , the national maritime Museum, and also  star luxury hotels. Galle  has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

So you can go swimming, diving and surfing in this beautiful sea by travelling there.
